From the School…

So rapidly the current school year is coming to a close. It seems only a short time ago when we opened the doors to welcome new friends and families. This year has been a remarkable success at SKS. From increased enrollment, financial stability, superb test scores, upgrades in the facility, winning athletic teams and improving our technology, (more…)

From the Religious Education Office…

Two weeks ago, my husband and I fought back tears as we watched our daughter, Amanda, graduate Magna cum Laude from Dominican University in River Forest. It was a wonderful day, and we took great delight in recognizing Amanda’s friends as they received their degrees. Also graduating with honors that day was Corinne Zimmerman, my daughter’s co-valedictorian here at St. Kieran in 2004. What an interesting journey these two young women have had. Both transferred into St. Kieran School mid-way through grade school, leaving behind schools that had not (more…)

The weather has been beautiful! It has been a little rainy, perhaps, but perfect for growing things and sprucing up the campus. Our sincere gratitude for your very generous donations to our St. Vincent de Paul Poor Box. The money will be wisely used to help our needy families. Without caring people like you, we would not be able to continue to serve those in need.

May God bless you and your families.

From the Religious Education Office…

When I was in my late twenties, living in southern California, I attended several events at the Crystal Cathedral in Garden Grove. Some of you will probably recognize the name as Rev. Robert Schuller’s church. The message delivered at the events I attended was quite different than the message I had been hearing all my life in the Catholic Church. The word “empowered” was used quite a bit, and for the first time in my life, (more…)

Special Announcement!

Dear Brothers and Sisters in the Lord:

I know that many have been anxiously awaiting news of who will be the next pastor of St. Kieran. I have received news that Cardinal George has appointed Father John Siemianowski as your new pastor; I am sure that many of you are acquainted with Fr. John already. He’s been here helping out with the celebration of Mass, hearing confessions and the like. He is the pastor of St. Agnes Parish. He will continue in that capacity while also assuming the responsibilities of pastor here at St. Kieran. Father John will be moving from St. Agnes to the rectory sometime in June. Please keep the parishioners of parishes, St. Agnes and Kieran, Father John and me in your prayers during this period of transition.

Yours in the Lord Jesus

Father Joe
