I wanted
to take this opportunity to introduce myself and express how much I
am looking forward to serving the people here at St. Kieran Parish.
I have
always been an active member of the music ministry, dating back to
grade school where I played the organ for school masses and then
guitar on Sundays at the very “hip” Guitar Mass. Then from there, I
started playing for weddings and substitute playing for the organist
at that time.
I went on
to college to obtain a degree in Music Education. My first teaching
position was in the Glenwood School District. So you see . . . I was
always close by hearing great things about your parish!
A few more
teaching positions later . . . I found myself in New Lenox where I
met my husband Rich (the man behind the guitar). It has been
wonderful to share our love for music as well as our love for each
other.
Rich’s
son, Rick (22) and my daughter, Mia (28) both live with us, but we
consider it a blessing! Our home is always filled with sounds of
music (mostly Rich’s guitar playing), Mia’s contagious laughter,
Rick’s video games, and of course . . . the pots and pans clanging
in the kitchen!
Prior to
St. Kieran’s, I was the Music Minister at St. Lawrence O’Toole (in
Matteson).
I hope to
meet all of you in some capacity as we journey together keeping
Christ the center of our community. Keep singing!
