Join us at our Lenten Parish Mission—
Christ, the Lord of History
Feb. 28th through Mar. 3rd.
Sessions at 7:00 p.m.
Sunday through Wednesday.
Presenter: Rev. George Knab
The
future presents us with nothing to fear, rather, it offers challenge
and opportunity. We are fearless because our hope is placed not in
ourselves but in Christ. We are called to follow His way, a way
modeled by the saints. In their company we move forward, confident
in the love of Christ.
Evening
Themes:
· Christ:
Yesterday, Today and Forever — Jesus is THE Christ.
Through
baptism we become other christs. Joining all the baptized we
become the Body of Christ that brings life to the world. A candle
ceremony affirms our faith in who we are.
· Saints
Alive! —
We see
the church as a communion of saints providing us a circle of support
in a world that tries to make us different than who we really are.
We take time to remember and honor those who have brought us closer
to God.
· Holiness
of Life —
Becoming holy is very simple; it’s a matter of taking, blessing,
breaking, and giving. This sacred action made present at every Mass
shapes us according to the pattern we have in Jesus, the Christ.
The service concludes with prayer for healing at the cross.
· The
Hope That is Within You —
Sin is
the great discouragement. But we can acknowledge the evil in and
around us and still have hope because we believe in a mercy greater
than our sinfulness. We call on Divine Mercy through the
celebration of the Sacrament of Penance. Confessions are also heard
the following day.
Morning
Program:
· To
complement the evening service, Fr. Knab will celebrate and preach
at morning Masses.
