St. Kieran Parish Financial Report
Fiscal Year 2004 - 2005

Parish Expenses exceeded ordinary income by approximately $50,671 or about 4%. Weekly Sunday and Christmas/Easter collections decreased by almost $9,000 or about 2% from last year and almost 6% below budget. Archdiocesan collections decreased by 11%, but exceeded budget. Sharing collections for Our Lady of Tepeyac Parish exceeded last year and budget.

School tuition and fees exceed budget due to an increase in enrollment. This is also reflected in the decreased total school subsidy. There was an increase in grant money from the remainder of the Dr. Scholl grant. Other school income reflects funds raised by the technology committee, including: box tops, labels, & shields,

Late Night Catechism, etc. These funds were then spent for the improvements reflected under expenses.

Salaries and related benefits increased by $63,135 or 7 % due to short term additional staffing.

Utilities increased by $5,291 or 11%. We can expect additional increases this year.

In the past, Food and Meals described only meals served for the priests at the rectory. This report reflects a change in charting accounts to include all foods and serving products used for all church activities, e.g., picnic, RE, Adult Ed, etc.

The total parish deficit was reduced by 30% to $50,671.

The Building Fund increase includes a $19,206 repayment from the Dr. Scholl’s grant for an in house loan for the computer lab. The actual increase in Building Fund income was $1,293 or less than 1%.

The decrease in Millennium Campaign income reflects the approaching end of the campaign. It will officially close at the end of this year.

This end of the year report reflects the health of our parish. Even with increased expenses and decreased ordinary income, God provided and we managed to reduce the deficit for the year.

Thank you for your stewardship of time, talent, and treasure for St. Kieran Parish. Christianity is a missionary faith. Jesus instructed his followers and us to go and make disciples of all nations. Our parish shares in this great commission. Every year we need to re-evangelize ourselves, to hear the gospel preached to us. We need to re-commit ourselves as Christ’s disciples, men and women willing to follow the Lord and bring him to others. Lastly, we need to be good stewards, accepting everything we have as gift from God, using it wisely, and returning it to him with an increase!

God bless you and God bless St. Kieran Parish!
