04/18/10 CONGRATULATIONS AND SALUTATIONS! - St. Kieran parish would like to recognize the continuing accomplishments of the members of our parish family . . . to Andrea Kowalisyn for receiving the Richard Murphy Award, recognizing outstanding scholarship by an undergraduate. Andrea received this award for writing the best undergrad paper in the Department of Communication at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign . . . to our St. Kieran School Kindergarten class, who raised over two hundred dollars during their Lenten bake sales. Our students earned $.25 apiece at home for each chore that they accomplished. The money was spent on baking ingredients for cookies and brownies. These were sold at lunchtime to earn the money. The students voted to donate $100 to the St. Baldrick’s Cancer Research Fund and $125 is going to the South Suburban Humane Society in Chicago Heights. We are proud of your continuing success! 05/16/10 CONGRATULATIONS AND SALUTATIONS! - The St. Kieran Parish family would like to recognize the continuing success of the members of our community . . . to all who attained honor roll status for the third quarter of the academic year at Bloom High School, including Christian Acs, Jamie Amazzalorso, Jenna Amazzalorso, Samantha Angell, Natalie Karwowski, Rhaea Palombi, Jessica Patzelt, and Michelle Patzelt . . . to Kimberly Betton, former St. Kieran School Student and Class Valedictorian for the Graduating Class of 1997; she will graduate this month from the Illinois College of Optometry with a Doctorate in Optometry. Kimberly has been awarded a number of honors during her academic career, including Clinical Honors at William Chappel VA and Southeast Eye Specialists, the Dean’s List in 2006, the Golden Keys Honors Society at DePaul University in 2005, and she is in the Who’s Who for 2005 at DePaul University.
